Dance costumes are often only worn on stage ONCE for a total of 3 minutes (or one hundred and eighty seconds) before spending years in a closet collecting dust - and ultimately ending up in landfill.

 

ONE EIGHTY Dance Costumes was founded in 2019 and was conceptualized by the overwhelming statistics surrounding the fashion industry and the negative impacts it has on our environment. As the owner of a large dance studio, we were purchasing 2000 individual dance costumes each year - and over our 9 years in operation, this equated to more than 18,000 costumes. Keeping in mind that dance costumes are usually made from polyester and other plastic products, they are dyed using extremely toxic chemicals and are embellished with tiny pieces of micro plastics (glitter, sequins etc). We just couldn't be a part of this for another minute - and so ONE EIGHTY was born.

It is our aim to be a top local supplier of dance costume hire in Perth and by offering this service, dance studios are able to dress their dancers in gorgeous costumes at a fraction of the cost of buying them outright. All hire fees cover the cost of laundering so they can be re-used over and over again to maximize their use whilst reducing the impact it has on the environment and reducing the unnecessary waste that ultimately ends up in landfill.

ONE EIGHTY is frequently updating and adding to our inventory ensuring stock is current & there is a good variety available.
